Interesting idea.
My unqualified thoughts:
The motor would be spinning at 50% extra RPM compared to a 700c wheel, but it might appreciate because I don't think the hub motors enjoy low speed high torque. However, at high speeds you'll be running the thing at 50% greater RPM than the engineers had bargained for. No idea if that's a bad thing or not.
You'll also need quite short spokes indeed if you get one of the larger hub motors, which I would avoid because of the risk of it bucking into massive wheelies. The rear wheel is not far behind your centre of mass.
Would it be insane to put a bafang motor on one of these..?
