I see your point, but they received their criminal punishments (community service etc.) but more importantly weren’t injured, so still available to do the job they’re paid to do.
In my opinion, all 3 should’ve been sacked. We’ve managed to get rid of Mason Bennett thankfully. He later filmed a video on a train going past Pride Park saying “let it burn”... nice fella.

The guy (captain at the time) got absolutely shit-faced with some other morons in the team and chose to get in the car of a drunk team mate and not out on his seatbelt. The resulting crash put him out of action for the season and he refused the clubs offer of slightly lower pay while he recovered.
If you had been left unable to do your job for a year because you got absolutely shit-faced and made some bad decisions would you expect to keep your job?
