No way Mike Brown did that on purpose.
-
• #3928
Did you actually see it or just hear about it from his mum?
-
• #3929
His mum's mates' hairdresser told me.

So Simmonds get a hat trick, breaks the premiership season record, reckon he gets an England call up now?!
-
• #3931
Yep, if he transfers to Saracens.
-
• #3932
Don’t even joke about it….
Would make for interesting Christmas dinner family chat between the brothers as well.
-
• #3933
Hahaha. He's much more of a Bristol player anyway. Imagine him under Pat Lam!!!
(Swap for Nathan Hughes?)
-
• #3934
His interview was great last night, he grew up just wanting to play for Exeter, even if he only got to play one game. So can't see him leaving unless circumstances really change.
-
• #3935
Didn't Waldron come very close to breaking it whilst playing 8 for you guys too? I don't watch enough Exeter to know, but it is mostly from the back of mauls/with two props latched on close to the line or is he still scoring some of the highlight reel numbers?
-
• #3936
Yes, Waldrom was very much the blue print. although he pretty much scored all his tries from a yard out. Simmonds certainly gets more than his fair share from there, but also gets more from a diverse range, for example his third last night was from the end of a move out on the wing.
He certainly benefits from having hefty lumps at 6(Ewers) and 7(Vermuelen) who latch onto him. But also has excellent ability to burrow over the line on his own.

Naughty Pat...
Amusing to see Afoa just get fed up with it all and basically just walk on despite all the silliness.
Whatever the other arguments, saying it’s the official’s fault if a player gets injured is p*ss poor though. I expect a strong sanction for Lam.

• #3938
Didn't cover himself in glory there did he, thought Borthwick was gonna give him a slap a one point.
Had no dog in that fight, but was cheering on Leicester in that finally 10mins. -
• #3939
Yeah disgraceful from Bristol, they've played some great stuff this season but I hope they've totally undone it all now. Hope they get beaten in the playoffs.
-
• #3940
Yeah, not a good look from Pam. Didn’t hear the direct quote, but seen it reported that he said to the ref that if Afoa got injured it would be the refs fault, if he did say that then I think he might be in hot water.

Yup. As I said above. This, for me, is the worst of it. The rest was trivial by comparison (if anyone doesn't think all of the teams have been fiddling the HIA and front row sub rules all season, they've been under a rock). Massive red flag for me here, as a Bris supporter also. As I understand it, it's not his place (or Borthwick's) to speak with the refereeing team either. They have Team Managers to relay the official comms.
I was amused by Afoa getting more and more fed up with it all and seeming to just go on anyway, regardless of Lam. The Team Manager fella, whose name escapes me (used to play in the 1st team, double-barrelled surname), seemed more nervous of Afoa than Pat… “Tactical” he said as big John was practically already in the scrum!

Yes, the rest of it was a bit of a storm in a teacup.
What I really wanted was for Afoa to come back on then Leicester to change their mind and take a quick pen instead (guessing they would not be allowed to do that though).
I really love the way that Bristol play (coming from a chiefs supporter no less!), but this does take them down in my estimation a bit.
Chiefs now likely to have back to back home matches against Sale, assuming Bris win, and we get one point off sale this weekend. Sale are a team I'm not sure on, feels a bit odd that they have so many South Africans, apparently there are 45 SA players in the premiership and Sale have 11 of them...

Lol @ Bristol, glad they lost after their antics the other week.
-
• #3944
And there was me thinking an all SW final was on the cards, hopefully a Mcr v Ldn, come on the Bokke.
-
• #3945
Which Bokke? Exeter have a fair few also.
-
• #3946
Tuilagi seems determined to land a second yellow
Is playing with 14 the Alex Sanderson game plan?
-
• #3947
Ah well, not to be this year. Looks like two entertaining matches, shall watch the highlights on C5 Monday night.
-
• #3948
Held off commenting till after final whistle. Chiefs show why they are champs. I love the fact they do it with a core of not just British players, but players who have a local connection as well.
-
• #3949
We only have 2? And only 1 played today…
-
• #3950
Tongue firmly in cheek - don’t you normally get accused of a couple of Zimbabweans also
Seconded
