  • That was quite a dredge! From my one minute refresh of the story, that seems like the right result given his circumstances and the clubs responsibilities.

  • The guy (captain at the time) got absolutely shit-faced with some other morons in the team and chose to get in the car of a drunk team mate and not out on his seatbelt. The resulting crash put him out of action for the season and he refused the clubs offer of slightly lower pay while he recovered.

    If you had been left unable to do your job for a year because you got absolutely shit-faced and made some bad decisions would you expect to keep your job?
