I live in the Peaks these days but grew up in Stockport. My dad took me all over watching Leeds when I was a kid but I never supported them.
I had/have the same allegiance as you but not been to watch City since about 2014. Always please to see City lift a trophy because it means the Rags or dippers haven’t but I fundamentally can’t invest too much emotion in supporting a club where there’s no level playing field.
Now Macc have gone pop I’m hoping County will be back in the league next season so I’ve got a decent standard of football to watch locally. They could have done with a win last night but only drew. Even County are taking the piss with money these. They signed Paddy Madden from L1 for £250k and I expect he’ll be the best paid player in non-league by some distance.
