That is lovely! I've got one of these in need of a respray and this was the paintjob I was after, or the white version...
Skinny carbon rims or ceramic/oxic and gumwalls for the win! -

Thanks. Since I've been on this forum and discovering keirin bikes, I've had a thing for metal flake paint. Wasn't even aware it was done on non Japanese frames. I'm no expert in bikes from before my time (this one is likely older than me) but knowing it was a Rossin and being made from SLX meant I couldn't resist.
I haven't found many examples of the same frame online. Is this the white one you meant? I wonder how difficult it would be to accurately reproduce the paint scheme.
As for wheels, I would love a pair of 20mm carbon rims, laced to silver spokes. Not entirely sure about gumwalls, I was thinking of playing safe with black, same for saddle and bar tape. Maybe a strong yellow like veloflex?

Originally wanted to go with silver stem and post. Since I have some carbon wheels, I thought I'd try black. The 3ttt bars came with the stem and are better than the Modolo bars but now thinking of going for compact bars so I don't compromise my position.
I'm thinking black would work, ideally having silver spokes to offset the rims and match the chromed parts, headset etc
Love the hints of pink, blue and purple flake on the Rossin logo.

Pretty much my all time favourite paint job the white/flicked black Rossin finish. The green / sparkle looks great though too. Lovely frames Rossin - good luck with finishing this one off.

This is the white version I was after -
And here is my project thread - https://www.lfgss.com/conversations/356712/
Also can I add a firm 1st dibs on yours if you ever consider selling it! Dream frame 👌

I'm taking a little break from cycling and bikes and by next year I should be back on it. The frame has been sitting stripped for months now without any progress. I've sourced a Chorus 10 speed groupset.
Other than that I picked up a Cannondale and a Corima 4 spoke which will gather dust until I figure out what I want to do with it.
Can't guarantee that I'll ever sell the Rossin but I'll definitely honour your dibs if I do.

@christono Is the Rossin still on the road?

Soooo it's been far too long. I guess my 2021 break from cycling / bikes extended into 2022 as well. Due to life circumstances I just haven't had the funds to finish this project. It's likely that this build will still take me a while but I'm determined to finish it this year. Now to get completely side tracked with other things.
I bought an old Canyon Ultimate for the groupset. This was so long ago now. It cost me 600€ and it was a bit dumb because the whole bike wasn't in great shape. I haven't done anything with it and now that I found better condition parts, I need to get rid of it. Hoping I can make my money back.

I wanted to keep the groupset but then found other parts being sold for a steal. Ideally after a standard chainset but compact is fine in the meantime. I nicked the rear derailleur from the Canyon and gave it a centaur one, so I now have short and med cage Chorus derailleurs but atm I only have a 11-25 cassette.
At some point last year or the year before I took photos comparing silver and black brakes on the frame. I'm going with black and they are super record (without the red because I'm really not into the red parts on Campagnolo stuff.)

Handlebars will be Deda 215 Shallow. The most aesthetic bend paired with campagnolo shifters imo. Wish they came in 38cm c-c but from my research, a black 26.0 handlebar of that width and shape is almost impossible to find. Tape will most likely be black or pink (if it matches the frame.)
Unfortunately my bars are 44cm (42 c-c) and so I need to find another pair that is 42cm (40 c-c)

Oooof the colours on that Rossin ring my bell like Anita Ward on thc oil vape & shrooms at the same time. Love the groupset plan as well. And who cares if you put silver 38 cm handlebars on it, it wont show on the proper DS pics anyway ¯_ (ツ)_/¯ . I never really mind the ones on my merckx while riding. I have way more joy from the narrow bars cutting through the air.

Cheers, exactly my thoughts when I first saw it :p honestly I want it to be my idea of a perfect build but realistically I should just get it built up.
Bringing me to the next dilemma - Campagnolo EC-RE001 downtube cable stops but one of the barrel adjusters is broken as pictured. Above that is a lovely stainless one from Donhou but the thread is too big. I'll go ahead and get a Shimano or other replacement for now as the campag ones seem to be pricey and rare.

That's feckin' ace! Your size? Seems 55ish, you'll need a nice long stem for that. Also, is the fork original?

Man, the paint on that Rossin is perfect.
Around 10 months ago I was without a road bike. I wanted something different, something steel, and got a pretty good deal on a 2020 Cinelli Vigorelli Road. Since the bike was OTP, I changed as much as I could quickly finding out how shit stock parts are (only the second bike I bought brand new.) So originally I was going to start a CP thread for the Cinelli but the bike never truly felt right.
Then I got thinking about the next bike. At the end of the day I want a good looking bike. I ride a fair amount but nothing too crazy. So it also needs to be comfortable and ride relatively fast. I probably should've just gone back to a carbon race bike but that felt boring. Not to mention I can't stand the aesthetics of modern aero and dick brakes. Well I really miss my sparkly keirin bike but fixed wasn't practical. A custom road frame from a Japanese builder has been a dream for the last 5 years but an unrealistic one at the moment. Then I started thinking about Rychtarski. But wait, what if I build this mad custom steel bike and I don't end up liking it. Better try something out first in case things don't work out.
and then I saw the Rossin -
yeah it's mad, blue paint with green / gold flakes. Looks mostly green but really depends on angle. Proper photos are required to do it justice, see build here https://www.lfgss.com/comments/13329208/
Columbus SLX tubing, unique bb shell. Campagnolo Chorus 8 Speed. Mavic MA3 rims on Campag hubs. Modolo bars and stem. Old kalloy aero seatpost. Stamped 56cm. Condition isn't too bad either.
Quickly changed saddle, tried to get my position roughly correct and went out for 30 mins. I think the size works. Groupset was fine actually, I'm considering keeping it for now but I might have to change the chainset to accommodate my power meter. Stem length needs to change and I would love a Cinelli Grammo but probably will settle for a 1A, open to suggestions on quill stems. Bars are too wide and not keen on the shape. This was my first time riding a classic drop? with the shifters lower down on the bars. I think it looks better on this frame vs compact drops with shimano shifters. My wrists were angled down more than I'm used to, so I'll have to experiment with that. I use a Selle SMP so seatpost will probably be a silver Thomson elite. Pedals will be changed to speedplays. King cages going on too. Wheels are a tough one, I would love Shamal tubs or a modern equivalent (if that exists?) I have some 40mm carbon tubs but I think black rims might look wrong with every other component being silver.
That's all I can think of for now, any input is appreciated. This bike deserves a solid build and to be ridden properly. More to come soon.
