To check my understanding- we can go to France, with a fresh, negative PCR test, and as France is likely (?) to be Amber it will be 10 days at home upon return?
Do we think it’s likely that France will go to Red or Green by the end of June/early July?
Just did some more reading into this @Dammit. Its more complicated than I thought.
If you go to France you need to do the following:
-Take a Covid test in France before you travel back to England. Quarantine in France if you fail.
-Book a private Covid test for day 2 and day 8 of your UK quarantine before you leave France.
-In addition, if you want to "test to release", you must book a third covid test for day 5 while you are still in France. So thats four covid tests at ~£200 a pop per person that you need to book. £800. Its not clear if you can cancel the day 8 one if you pass your day 5 "test to release" one.
In other words, its a little bit onerous and expensive.

It’s a bit cheaper than that but not much. Here’s an example from one firm, there are many more but this sets it out well for @Dammit
£164 for day 2 and 8 tests.
£98 for test to release after day 5 but you still need to do day 8 test.
Plus whatever it costs in France to get tested before your return. So ballpark £500 a pop coming back plus any tests you need to get into France.
