Some is, some isn't. I'm not sure if Paul Smith specifically do stuff to a price point (they don't with their womenswear but I don't know about the mens) but quite a few do an inferior range. If there's a lot of it then there's a good chance it is a clearance store range. If there's only one or two it's more likely to be end of line.

Looks like lots of high quality items in TKMax these days. I gave up a few year ago as it started to get boring/expensive. Might have to pop in next time I'm near

I guess that’s the genius of the business model, the tougher it is for other venders in the market place, the more stock becomes available to TK as they need the turnover and warehouse space. Initially a lot of companies thought it would devalue their brand image but very few see it like these days. TK have 4000 stores, you’d be crazy to run from that opportunity.

Only just found this thread! Love a TK bargain but hate the TK Maxx effect

It's also a bit more difficult stopping the suppliers (if the stuff is made under licence) selling to TK Maxx and the like than it used to be.

All European TK stores shut, £5m of food and drink donated to food banks, NHS workers, Easter eggs to wards etc.

Bumpety bump. Lots of ‘out of season’ bargains at the moment if you’re willing to run the gauntlet of non-mask wearing twats.
Picked up two pairs of Universal Works twill trousers, an Oliver Spencer shirt and a Wrangler jacket from their proper vintage reissue line. And some dog poo bags.

Picked up a pair of universal works trousers the other week too, they have loads of stuff from them.

It's actually really nice to not think about clothes - I've taken up gardening instead! Ive got so many clothes and wfh all the time means hardly any excuse to wear them, so will wait until 2022. Saving up for a house renovation too, so every little helps. Does mean no watches either when I had hoped for something nice this year. Did get to buy a car though! :)

A few Smythson bits appearing online as well as Ray Ban and Aqua Di Parma - probably as a result of quiet airport duty free shops.

Do people still use wallets?
(Not an attack, just a question)I stopped using one years ago, just have a snide Ridge card holder for the few cards I have.
Any actual cash would most likely be loose in my pocket, but I've not really had that in a long time.

Same here but you never know, Smythson stuff is very well made and would make a nice gift.
The other positive is there’s a lot of snide stuff around (just look on eBay) but you know this is legit. -

I always have a wallet when traveling as well as a folio as find you tend to want to have more stuff. Day to day I have a card holder.
Shame they don't have a smythson watch folio

Popped in today, bunch of Loake Design brogue boots for £100.

Socks. Most in TK are a bit of a brand’s afterthought but there are the odd decent effort. Levi’s are an exception and quite well made, I picked up some of their ‘performance’ pairs for running which are very similar to Balega in terms of quality.
Also saw Bridgedale merino walking socks for cheapz.

The TK Maxx/Farah socks are my go to. Comfortable, don't fall apart, and can usually pick up argyle patterns, which is an old 80s skateboarding/John Lucero thing.

I bought some Calvin Klein trainer socks in there recently which do the job, but when you're walking round in just socks it looks like your name is Alvin.

There's a Folk Eddy check flannel shirt, M, green for £25 in the Hackney TK Maxx.

Spring bump. Lots of Bridgedale merino socks in again and also some Armor Lux from their heritage line.

Cool. One of our security blokes said there was a bunch of Norse Projects gear in also.

In stores right now are lots of large Moleskine notebooks for £8 and some Smythson shizz (not amazing value but nice to gift).

I always thought the stuff looked tacky but assumed it was just because it lacked the aura of being expensive.
