Yes, I have them on my Brompton, but I think that their puncture resistance outweighs the disadvantages. I absolutely never want to get a puncture on a Brompton, especially the rear. My partner won’t notice the difference between the Marathons she has on her Brompton at the moment and the Pluses (except for less punctures).
What’s the most puncture proof tyre for a Brompton? Spent the morning removing and refitting the rear wheel from my partner’s six-speed Brompton to fix a puncture and I’m not anxious to do that very often (both wheel nuts, the nut that holds the chain tensioner and the gear cable nut were all seized).
Current tyre is a Marathon and it’s pretty cut up, but it never seemed very puncture proof even when new. I have Marathon Pluses on my Brompton, but I understand that these are not recommended, even though I’ve not had a puncture since I fitted them.
