  • Need to bleach my mind now.

  • Well, no. However I think the issue is just some missing glue, and I’m overkill-fixing. I paid around £8 for the different style folding set on the DR and they have been excellent.

  • That exhaust is a work of art

  • Fucking do it mate. That looks utterly stunning and will make for weekend runs of joy.
I decided against a Multistrada 1200 and I regret it weekly.

  • Mirrors were fine once the threadlock and firegum set solid around the pin.

Also, lever guards... cos clearly it’s a race biek.

  • Had a ride up here today on the GSXR which I haven’t ridden this year! It’s very fast. And the front brakes are still shite. Top fun, even if a bit knackering after too much wine and steak yesterday.

  • Typically - a new Brembo mastercylinder is 100 bucks more than last time I looked. Doh.

  • Taxed the Lambretta online yesterday, it's exempt but still gotta be done. Had the option to change it to MOT exempt too now its over 40 years old (it's actually 58 years old from frame serial number, 53 years old from being incorrectly re-registered on an age related plate when it was imported, so not sure why it hasn't been exempt before now)

Even so, boost! No more MOT nonsense from people who don't know about vintage machines

How does that affect your insurance premiums? I think that I read that some insurers don’t like exempt bikes, that they prefer you still get the MOT regardless. Something like, you can prove it’s still roadworthy and so they can insure it without loads of caveats and endorsements?

  • too much wine and steak

Since I scrubbed in the XJ tyres on Friday, decided to exercise yesterday - muddy fun two laps of the mtb trail.

Unfortunately I decided to treat myself to “just one” at the local craft brewer after. Having walked down there around 7pm, I didn’t get home til gone 11pm.

Considering how drunk I woke up, I think I’ll avoid riding today!!

  • Nice, makes me smile how they went back to 748/916 basics after the flak they got for the 749/999

  • Speaking of smiling, this turned up in my eBay browsing

  • I've got historic vehicle insurance on it anyway. I might just call my insurer for clarification though

  • Well I’d prefer to be wrong, but worth checking!

  • It’s a modded blade for those of us old enough to remember 2 stroke GPs

  • I was amazed to discover that a decent YPVS 350 LC is now making around 10 grand - jeez, seems like only yesterday that 250 and 350 LC's were everywhere !

  • I wasn't able to do that online for mine. It was a ballache just understanding what they wanted, I assumed they were just making it difficult to put people off.

  • We were riding RD 250 LCs on a provisional licence at 17. Madness.

  • Really? When I taxed mine it simply said do you want to make your vehicle MOT exempt yes/no

  • I don't know how I f**ked mine up so badly but during the first lockdown I went to a postoffice who simply tore my V5 in half and posted it to the DVLA. Months later I received it back in the post so I went to a different post office who taxed the bike and registered it as vintage.

Now I find out I've got to read my insurance fine print which is one of my least favourite things. :)

  • I had an RGV with L plates!

I have a mate who refurbs LCs - they are mental money

  • On the hunt for a mega-budget bt intercom for the pillion helmet. The Interphone Active has Anycom so should connect to any bluetooth intercom. Amazingly, it even connected to some random bluetooth earbuds with inline mic that I had laying around. Sorted!

  • Also ghetto-mounted this “e-marked” led headlight unit on the DR today. Lowbeam cutoff is pretty solid, but I doubt it’s MOT legit.
