are they neo classic or evomax? I would rotate them forward slightly almost parallel to ground

not trying to get likes on IG
He is, have you seen his tyres?

And yet i haven’t been on IG for months and never posted a pic of them. Had a small windfall thought I see what the fuss is about. Tbf they are quite nice.

Sage advice.

Neo classic, bikes on a slight slope so more flat than they look. Actually went for the bars as that large flat is good for my huge hands on the drops

I'm based in SE1 and have some on hand, ping me a PM if you are still looking.

How come it’s running a complete briftowntube shifter combo setup?

Period correct weight weenie choice, used by some pros back then

I got this Isla off a neighbour for my kids birthday. I need to 'disguise' it a little so the previous owner and my kid don't clock who it used to belong to.
I was thinking some funky helicopter tape?
Also any recommendations for new kid bike bits as the grips , pedals and saddle could do with replacing.

Ourly and ODI do grips in all sorts of colours and sizes. Just check the OD of the grips, because the kids ones can be smaller for their smaller hands.
I’d go for either pink grips and matching cables on a purple bike or matching yellow.

Cool! And thanks tester for the info!

Just checked and the bars are a smaller diameter. 19mm ish.
I just found some of this funky tape on the spares box that might work.

Is there a go-to friction thumbie that lufguss can recommend? It should handle up to 9 speed, and some micro-ratcheting would be nice. I've seen cheap stuff on Ali, but supposedly it can only do 7 speed.

Dia compe are very nice - uses a micro ratcheting mechanism, but are not cheap.
They're in stock at Bike24 though. -

Looks extremely nice, but not cheap indeed. Will see, thank you very much for your input, appreciated!

Seen the exact same stuff on AliExpress for about 5 EUR incl shipping, but there they claimed it's 7 speed max. Apparently they aren't? I think I'll give these a go, thanks again! It's gonna be for a budget build anyways, so they won't look out of place.

It might be a little funky with some of the modern cable pull ratios.. But I run a Sram X7.2 on 3x9 setup with 6-speed downtube shifters mounted on thumbies and it works even if it shouldn't.
So my guess is you're good to go. -

I will be using some oldschool MTB derailleur, Deore DX or similar, so no funky ratios should be involved. :) Thanks!

Lockdown skidder project has finally come together. Had a quick shakedown this morning through the woods and lanes which was as fun as I’d hoped. Awaiting a fancier sprocket and lockring, and a bit of tweaking to do with the saddle and fit.
Has completely achieved what I intended it to do though - slow build through the lockdowns and puts a big smile on my face.
Need to take better pictures once the fit is dialled in.
