Yes, but looks like the actual problem is a disagreement about whether you supplied the right details or not. So you probably need legal not financial procedure advice. I am not a lawyer but fairly sure the first question they would ask is whether you have documentation of the bank details you provided.

I did supply the correct bank details yes but they are also saying I didn’t. I have a screen shot of my start forms and they are not disputing the fact that I did provide the correct bank details but they are now also saying I changed it. Why would I touch my bank details if I haven’t changed my bank?
It looks like they fucked it up when they entered my bank details incorrectly onto the system and trying to shift the blame onto me.
So what it is the sort code is correct, only the last digi of the account number is wrong. What are the chances of that being an actual account with just 1 digi different out of the the 6+8 digis combo?
Also, how long does it usually take for a recall to be processed?
I am going to pay that incorrect account £1 later to see what will happen to get an idea myself. A colleague who has worked there for much longer told me they would not rule out someone was actually commuting a fraud. I don’t know, so before I get my union and then legal involved, I just want to get paid and let it slide, if HR is dodgy, it’s not my fight.
So any banking help is appreciated so if they are trying to call bluff I can react accordingly before it gets ugly. Union and legal will be the last step if now resolved by end of next week.
Bit of an odd one, do we have anyone works in the banking industry? Got some Qs re bank payment recall time/practice etc. Long story but I didn’t get paid in April because my work said they paid it into the wrong account and are blaming me for giving the wrong bank details (I didn’t) and now they are saying they will only pay me if/when they can recall the money.
