Bit of a hacks/bodges thread overlap. Bought these mirrors, went to fit and got instantly annoyed. Once tightened down they’d swing on the bolt, clearly not located permanently.
So I pulled on them and of course the black portion wasn’t even glued inside the arm.
Filled the cavity with loads of red threadlock, drilled a small hole into the black metal part (which is hollow/threaded), and used a small piece of snapped drill bit as a dowel pin.
Filled the end of the hole with fire gum.
Gone back to the bike 5 hours later and they feel pretty solid.
Had brand new Avon Road Rider mkII fitted this morning. Need to scrub them tomorrow, so it’ll be a good test if the mirrors move or not.
