I like that a lot, Salsa Cutthroat?

Has someone said already that nobody knowing what bike to ride is brilliant?
I’m enjoying the fact that “gravel” hasn’t settled on a formula yet. Well in the U.K. anyway...

There are Gravel bikes? I’m just in this thread for the lols
-
• #18905
This is far more inspiring than the Death Valley video
-
• #18906
Yeah, if I ever get a gravel bike it will be that.

I'd not read it but am on an interminable "Trade and Investment Opportunities" zoom meeting so have read it now. I agree, really inspiring.

Was there a thread for stupid fixed gear bikes with big knobbly tyres?

these are race bikes; 1 hour race, back into the car

I keep looking at them, just want something with a little more clearance than the Kepler but do t really want to go down 650b route as the wheels look silly in my sized frames.
I do have a deposit down on the new Singular Peregrine but can I wait that long, has the bonus of taking the build kit from the Kepler

But let's break that down ... max 35mm tyres, agile handling and a high bb. I love abusing CX bikes. They're fun, fast and challenging.
I don't think I actually love gravel bikes (but they do make versatile/useful winter road bikes).

I've no connection with the sale... other than being tempted myself. It looks like a 54. This one has plenty of steerer which is nice. Pretty sure they're about 54 effective toptube. Most cross bikes are low at the front but still 'square'.
These and the Ridleys look weirdly lopro (because they have plenty of room for a shoulder in the main triangle).

The longer fork of cx vs road bikes make them look smaller coz of the short headtube for the same size :)
-
• #18916
This is true.

• #18917
arent they just rebadged Ridleys; same as Paul Milnes.
We need cross historian @leggy_blonde

counteracted by baby chainrings

There's definitely some inbreeding yes.

Early Empellas are definitely not rebadged Ridleys. Love an Empella, especially single ring with some blue frogleg brakes. Classic.

this was a great read, thanks

I wish I still had mine. I would build it up a lot more slave today

• #18923
OG Michelin Green Muds must be the most slave tyres out there.

Mouse hover-over says Canyon Grizl..
Not a fan of Crusts usually but this “Florida man” looks nice.
