Great to see an update on this. If you're after a Sunday best then can't really think of a better machine, but may be biased as have a soft spot for 1198's. From your GSX-R and RSV sounds like you know what you're getting into, personally a 1098 doesn't 'make sense' on the road but then it's not really supposed to. What turned me off getting an 1198 was the belt service intervals, but that's obviously part of the Ducati experience. If you enjoy the trading up journey of ownership and can afford it why not, can't see it depreciating. Even if you develop arthritis in your left hand and your back packs up at least you'll have tried it. Probably not very helpful or impartial but this video, albeit of a 1198s, probably says it best.

24k km on the clock, just had the Desmo service, 12 month warranty from an official Ducati dealership, Termignoni slip-ons and it’s actually not red.
