  • Exquisite, so I'm told.

  • Interesting. That's good to know.

  • Vaccination Friday at 8 pm.
No reaction at night, but started feeling tired & off with strange feeling in muscles yesterday at 4 pm. Bit grumpy and brain-dead too.

Strange enough no increase in body temp during it but I felt roasting from 22 pm to 3 am. And my nose felt hot and dry inside.

Weird one but not so bad I guess... Did not take any paracetamol etc. just let it do it's thing.

My partner got th classic chills and fever overnight and also had to sleep extra day after.

Bit annoying second shot probably means the same reaction, ah well, it is necessary.

  • Which vaccination did you receive?

  • AZ.

But I think Pfizer can do the same, colleague of mine got it, also had a rough day after.

The innate immune system reacts, but it varies per person how you feel. My dad got Pfizer and a mate if us who works in hospital, just a sore arm.

  • Had my second Pfizer ten days ago, had a sore arm after the first jab, nothing after the second. When we caught CV19 over new year all I had was a head cold and back pains so think I’m just very lucky. My wife just got sore arms both times with her AZ jabs, she had a bad time with the virus.
I don’t know for sure but guess we got bumped up the list because of the old people we look after.

  • Out of curiosity: The vaccine puts the innate immune system on high alert. Does that mean it will "hunt" other baddies lurking about in the body as well?

The specific T and B memory cells response won't even start to build to day 4.

My mum. No reaction but arm.
Neighbour daughter and my manager: A week of tiredness / grumpiness.

My partner felt off again 4&5 days after.

  • It's fucking mad scenes.
    Sven Vath too.

  • What's the point of allowing international travel for leisure purposes but strongly discouraging it? Surely it's either ok (with whatever conditions/precautions they attach) or it's not?

Feels a bit like preemptive blame shifting...

  • Covid Recovery Group: 'Open up internatonal travel!'
    Johnson: 'OK'
SAGE/every scientist: 'Watch out for new variants from countries with inadequate vaccination programs'
    Johnson: 'OK'.

  • Covid Recovery Group: 'Open up internatonal travel!'

    Johnson: 'OK'
SAGE/every scientist: 'Watch out for new variants from countries with inadequate vaccination programs'
    Johnson: 'OK'.

I mean, those both seem fine positions to take in combination with each other!

its the "open up international travel with precautions to minimise the risk of variant transmission but tell people not to travel internationally because it might not be enough" thing I don't get.

If it might not be enough, should it be allowed?

  • A guy I know was doing photography at this, said it was great. Not sure I'd be up for it for various Covid and non Covid concerns but kinda glad it's happening.

  • Actually, I'd fucking love a couple of pingers and a sweaty night dancing, once you get going I suppose the room could be full of 2000 or 6 people really, it's the going to the toilets and getting a drink you really miss out on/don't have to worry about all the other cunts.

  • Anyone able to recommend a covid travel test company? Seems a cluster f of profertiting c's.

  • I'd have anxiety in a room like that covid or no covid. Plus. Ultra Nate? c'mon.
As a balaericsilverback, I say no.

  • Unless Harvey plays a Wevverall remix. Then I'll like it. For 4 minutes. Then hate it again.

  • Testing for all is good, did my antibodies test (nothing) and not for profit, have a look

    https://www.testingforall.org/product/covid-19-swab-pcr-test/

  • They don't do fitness for travel certificates sadly.

  • Concepto Clinic were good for us in August last year.

  • Thanks, makes the point that the 120 I have just paid for the 2 and 8 day PCR tests is clearly 'fairly priced'.

  • This test is suitable for:

Fit to fly for countries requiring PCR tests

Maybe I misunderstood the requirements though

  • Maybe I misunderstood the requirements though

You're not wrong however a lot of countries require a doctor's certificate confirming your test results. Most people call it a fit to fly certificate I think.

Most countries also require the test to be taken within 2- 3 days of travel and the testing for all one requires you to post your swab to a lab and then it takes 1 to 2 working days to be processed.

Edit: Just checked, the closest thing to a european standard is a requirement for a pcr test taken within 72 hours of your landing time. Given that testing for all need you to post the swab back to them and then take up to two working days to get the result back to you, it doesn't really feel like a service suitable for travel. The concepto guys get you your result and doctors certificate same day.

  • One fly in the ointment is that the UK is a third nation now so won't be eligible to be part of the new EU travel requirements.

  • Do the travel tests require you to do it in person and have your ID verified and have the swab done properly, or am I being hopelessly naive?
