I'm in Sumo's corner. A few minor annoyances aside, it was far from shit.

This is definitely gonna make me play through Metro Exodus again, some shots look incredible. Might lower the difficulty so I can concentrate on the scenery.

Cyberpunk 2077 on PC for £24 sounds like it might be worth the money.
I seem to recall that most of the hooha about it being buggy and rubbish was on consoles, but that it was ok on desktops.
Is it like GTA with robots and mirrored glasses?

I am going to rant a bit about PC gaming. Last year I decided to get a few more games on Steam for lockdown reasons. First I reactivated my old Steam account and thought that will be it and I will have all my games in this one place etc.
Then I got interested in some games that were Epic store exclusives, I thought ok, just another store but then it somehow escalated. Every new game
needs some extra app from the publisher on top of the store apps. So now I have uplay, rockstar social some cheat buster, ubisoft connect and other shite. And I also made the mistake of buying Hitman 3 in the Epic store instead of Steam like the previous one, so another dance to link accounts.Today I though I will try this Game Pass thing, not too much money and some interesting games.
Microsoft takes my money, login to xbox app, the first thing I see is Star Wars Squadrons, totally forgot about this game let's try it out. Please install the EA Desktop App and EA Game Services! WTF?
I install it make an account, don't receive the verification number so hit resend, app freaks out "you have tried verifying too many times now wait", manage to login through the website and verify. Go back to Xbox app to restart the installation, EA app pops up, please login, type in my login and password..boom error code 10005. Cue months old forum posts about this problem, all
solutions like killing the app, clearing cache, rebooting don't work. Ok fuck this shit let's try Flight Simulator.
Start 154Gb installation and go to cook something, return, installation is finished, start game...checking for updates...WTF?...installing 168Gb update!! WTF!?!? and the best part is
now it's downloading 212 chunks, so instead of full 100Mbit it downloads at between 20-30.
FUCK THIS SHIT my next game is a crack, mount ISO > install > run game. -

This is one of the reasons the Series X is such a great machine. All the benefits of a fast gaming PC with a streamlined experience.
With game pass, it’s cheaper and easier to play a huge library of games than running a desktop steam sale machine.

Yea, I used to play on the PS4 before but I wanted something better for a 4k tv and some games that are PC only with mods etc.

Turns out I can't even play another game while MSFS updates itself for the next 12 hours, pressing a button on the controller starts a language pack download no matter where you are.
In the bin it goes. -

Returnal is really nice, feels like a proper next gen game, great graphics, play style and the instant loading times are brilliant...
Mind you, it's really fucking hard. I just cleared something called a 'containment gate' for the first time which is a three phase spawn area of difficult mobs that you're locked into once you enter. I had the best guns I've ever had and after clearing it I 'saved' my progress (1 time save only) and attempted the first boss for the 10th time, he killed me twice, so now I'm back to the very start of the game.
Thing is, because the game randomises each time you die and you don't know what you're getting when you walk through each door (zero load time is great) the first room I walked into had the containment gate meaning I could try it immediately rather than grinding through the level to get to it.
I honestly don't know if it was good that I cleared it early on or not. It's too difficult to say for sure what the best strategy is. But the idea of clearing this game from start to finish when I can't do the first boss does not bode well -

I bought this at launch for like £20 on GOG.com by changing location to Russia
I really really liked cyberpunk. Would have been happy of I paid full price.
Stunning graphics, fantastic musical score (often I listen to some of the more relaxing songs when doing work) great characters you get invested in.Just don't try play it on an aged PS4.
And yeah the NPC AI is a bit stupid. -

I really like the premise of the plot,
What puts me off is watching the gameplay trailers it looks like- run from room to room at high speed
- shoot aliens
- shoot bigger alien
Rinse and repeat,
Am I being unfair to the gameplay?

I really want to play it but I'm not giving them any money until they add in mid run saves.

You have a buff mechanic called adrenalin that levels every 3 kills for max 5 stacks. each stack grants e.g. improved melee or dash.. If you get hit once then you reset the adrenalin buff to zero.
The green health/armour ground loot are ok, but to level your health bar you have to collect them whilst at max health and armour so collecting them as you come across them is a mistake, instead you're better to clear the level without getting damaged and then level up your health with it all before the boss fight.
Then you have weapons which drop with improved stats if your proficiency has levelled (which starts at lvl 0 each game)
The rest of items can be useless, including parasites you can attach which buff you in exchange for a debuff
Your dash command has dark souls-like invincibility frames baked in, so its a bit like playing destiny with a mix of dark souls and amnesia. -

I haven't reached the second boss yet, still exploring.
You don't have to redo the first boss again, you can run straight too the portal although I think it's a good idea to pick up a few health upgrades first. There's a proficiency pickup at the start of 2 that takes you up to level 5 I think.
Edit: also stuff you unlock in the second biome (guns etc.) can now drop in the first biome, which can make things easier.
I finished it last weekend, enjoyed it but that last fight was a bit of a dick, not sure the parrying was quite right, or I never quite got the hang of it properly.
