After an estimated 12000 km of commuting, the cheap cup and cone rear wheel with SS adapter still hasnt died. Seems there is no pressing need to persue this nearly impossible task of finding a cheap and silent SS Disk hub other than esthetics.
However, I have found this cheap hub on ebay and decided to give it a go. Will report back when it arrives.
