I just went crazy and bought some Honjos... they are super lovely but monies

My rear one snapped a week before OG lockdown. Replaced in a instant with another Brompton one and have used the bike twice since 🤦🏻♂️

Any alternatives to the BBBR platform about? The Eerder Metaal is sold out.

I had a tumble forward on my Brompton. Body took most of it thankfully. The rack mount has cracked a tiny bit but bag still secures on without wobble. Wondered what I could use to try and fix it?

Cheers!

Depends on the type of plastic but a soldering iron?
-
• #9809
Unfortunately, this won't repair.
Replace the bag frame. -
• #9810
Not sure if Brompton sells just the frames anymore, otherwise I would
-

You can get them super cheap from Ali Express if you are willing to wait a couple of weeks

Afternoon everyone, new poster here. I've just done 25km on mine, the seatpost dropped about an inch in that time. Ive seen photos of cracked seat tubes on here, any tips? It's probably done less than 100 miles. Thanks
-
• #9814
where did you get the bike?
have you adjusted the seat clamp at all?
How many threads are out of the nylock? -
• #9815
Just nip up the nut on the seatpost QR. They're not tight enough from new.

From On Your Bike, about a year ago. Never got the chance to take it back for a follow up service as it was the first lockdown, and been on my other bikes all year, hence the low mileage.
There's pretty much bang on 2 threads showing, don't think I've adjusted it

On that note I’ve got a standard seat post going if anyone is in need!
-
• #9818
Give it one full turn clockwise with a 10mm
-
• #9819
Will do, thanks. Any particular torque, or dimension between outer edges of the frame lugs?
-
• #9820
The gap between the inner lugs is something like 17mm untensioned;
The torque is 4-7nm
Roughly 3threads out on a new bike
Once the sleeve is worn you just tighten until it’s in need of replacement.
-
• #9821
How long does a sleeve last?
-
• #9823
depends on;
how often you raise the post
how clean the post is
rider weight
saddle position
clamp tightness etcoften a number of years though
-
• #9824
depends which hub gear!
for Alfine its a 2/6 modified to suit the chainline; I have spares of these on my desk
for Rohloff you can use either 1/3 or 2/6 -
• #9825
Thanks, would be For alfine. Do any of the aftermarket bromtification/ti parts workshop ones work at all? Or does it have to be the one Ben supplies?

Anyone going to be bidding for a one off?
