I have so many stupid, bad ideas I really need to win the lottery in order to pursue them.
Let’s say, for the sake of pure conjecture, that someone bought the S600 that’s on eBay at the moment for £7,900 (so lets call it £6,500) and the E55 Estate that’s on for £9,500 (£9,000?) and then paid DynoTorque £10,000 to put the V12 and transmission from the S600 into the E55, what would the resulting mutant be worth if/when said twin-turbo V12 AMG estate were offered to the market?
A lot less than the total - unless you have someone who really, really wants it - young people call them unicorns. My friend bought an A6 and basically made it into an RS 6 - lost a lot of money. I wish I had bought it from him though (me being a unicorn).
This is a similar situation I'm in with my Lexus engined Forester plans... maybe I'm being optimistic but I think if the work is done to an extremely high standard it should be worth a few quid. A lot of these odd one offs are fairly poorly finished which is what makes the value disappointing...
