Orange/gold flamboyant sounds fantastic. You do have to be so gentle with the paint, when your budfing and polishing. Just the lightest touch is all it needs. Did you get the cotters out @anidel?

I think it should. It looks to me like yours is just covered in grime/dry grease etc which should come off with bit of (gentle) work I'd think. Should come up lovely. I'd love to have seen what their original finishes were like- a kind of deep orange/gold flamboyant I think-hardly subtle!
