Yeah, the Halo skewers aren't bad as far as all-alloy ends go, but they're still soft enough to slip and run the risk of stripping the inner thread if tightened sufficiently to prevent axle shifting with a disc brake at the front.
The skewers I'm hoping to have made will have a steel insert forming a serrated collar to grip the dropout, and a steel threadsert so they'll take more torque than alloy.
I had some of those Halo hex skewers that you can get in various colours. I found them a bit hard to tighten without it slipping in the dropouts though.
