  • No idea yet, still very early days. They won't be anywhere near as cheap as far-Eastern commodity bits though...

    Also looking to get nice hex skewers in equally lurid ano colours made, with serrated steel collars to prevent slipping when used with disc brakes.

  • I had some of those Halo hex skewers that you can get in various colours. I found them a bit hard to tighten without it slipping in the dropouts though.

  • Yeah, the Halo skewers aren't bad as far as all-alloy ends go, but they're still soft enough to slip and run the risk of stripping the inner thread if tightened sufficiently to prevent axle shifting with a disc brake at the front.

    The skewers I'm hoping to have made will have a steel insert forming a serrated collar to grip the dropout, and a steel threadsert so they'll take more torque than alloy.
