I've always worn trainer socks, the ones you don't see, but I always get jip from 'proper' cyclists so invested in the above recently and finding them pretty good.
The b&w primal ones got a bit of mud splashed on them on the first usage which has stained the white bits so maybe avoid them for any offroading/gravel etc.
