Nice. Surely some ridiculously expensive carbon black cages required!?
I’m getting real weight envy on this and this lightweight thread my disc bike is just over 7kg so nothing crazy heavy but still -

New Canyon Aeroad flexi seatpost design is fucked and wrecking frames
-
• #2604
That was on reddit last year and the buyers got warranty Ultimates.
-
• #2605
And they’ve now changed the design. So you order and you’ll get new design in a few months.

Canyon having a very bad month...

I know Cervelo had problems with some forks but has any brand had to recall/do not ride its absolute pinnacle bike also marketed in team replica spec?
Thats stunning

This recess on the bars looks like the shifters could have been over torqued?

By a pro team mechanic? More likely the bars were made soft

Posted in the Pro cycling thread but relevant; Canyon swap out their own clamp for the STIs which a Youtube video by the Peak Torque account points out has some potential design “issues”

Aeroad handlebars being replaced now as well.

Wow, quite the undertaking!
Not sure I’d be very happy if I’d spent the sort of money a CFR or SLX costs.
The credit and timing is a strange situation too. -

Looking at Canyon stitched 720 for dirt at the mo.

Dredging up an old thread, but did you ever figure out the answer to this? I've got the exact same question about the compression plug on my Canyon. It seems like the plug is too shallow to cover the entire area where the stem is clamped.
-
• #2618
I ended up refitting it as per original setup but with carbon assembly paste, as per my original pic, with the bung about 40mm down, well below the top of the stem, as the sleeve on the compression bolt forces you to.
It's not slipped again - if it does I'll probably replace the bung with the oversize Pro one someone linked to.

Thanks for this, it's been surprisingly hard to find any information about how to set these up. I don't think mine has slipped, but I wasn't sure where it's best seated relative to the stem. Cheers!

Too much carbon, that is the problem with things snapping.. ;)

Anyone have a spare Acros upper headset bearing?
Mines for some apparent reason has seized up on my 2 year old canyon ultimate. I believe it’s a 44x35x5,5 bearing.
Just to keep me running until my headset order from Germany gets through/delivered in a weeks time.

Kinetic Bearings have stock in the UK. It'll be cheaper than getting them from Germany.

Thanks. I ordered a complete headset/bearing direct from Acros in my rush before doing research over Easter weekend.
It’s about the same price from Kinetic Bearings anyways. I’ll just have to wait a bit longer.

So the 2021 Canyon Endurace is released. No massive changes but new colours, a new saddle and a power meter on some models. The cf sl aero which I got for £3899 in July 2020 has a 4iii power meter this year and is £4899. The power meter is around £320 on numerous UK websites.

Purchased my CF SL 7 in July 2019, the new grey is real nice but the £800 price increase :/
I think its purple, going to struggle to get a matching bottle cage. Will start riding it soon if the weather breaks
