So much John Dwyer on my screens right now. It's a good day.
I also just today realised why I loved the one Stratocaster I ever loved and didn't buy...
So I was in Boston for the summer in 2007 and I remember going to a guitar store and spending hours playing a reverse headstock Hendrix Strat and falling utterly in love with it. It was just a MIM one and not crazy money but I didn't have the spare cash to buy it at the time and I've just realised why I liked it so much more than every other Strat I've ever played...
And a John Dwyer segue...
Reverse angle bridge pickup is the answer!

I need to get better at multitasking.
And yes! I've thought that about reverse bridge pickup Strats. Not just for Jimi reasons. It just makes sense. No one ever thought, man I wish the high E on this strat bridge pickup was BRIGHTER

I think I might have to do a Partcaster in the future now that I've had this lightbulb moment!

I quite like the hole... Lovely amp...
And Johan Seborn is a fucking boss, just lounging around the house in his shorts and flip-flops playing through vintage Fenders and Marshalls all day... Aspirational...

That’s a sweet combo right there. Even with the white pick guard. :)

I think white guards are the sex on burst Teles, I'd like one for mine so I can swap it out every now and then...
-
• #11334
Haha - I like them too, with a slight preference for black which I’ve got on mine at the mo. I love all tobacco burst Teles.

I have to admit I do love a white pickguard these days on most things, has to be a nice off white though rather than blinding white...

I’ve just stolen this on eBay .
Know nothing of them except Steven Wilson raves over one of their newer ones . Tone is awesome and the reverb a huge step up from the little 15watt Marshall I was using .
£40 !!
And it was 2 streets away .

Thanks to @BleakRefs it was recently new amp day for me. As a result I have 2 amps to pass on: a Vox VT20+ complete with footswitch for channel selection, and a Marshall Class 5 with neighbour-friendly headphone-to-speaker mod. I'll put some pictures etc. up soon (might even see if I can record a quick video). Both will be at forum-friendly prices; ping me any messages of interest.

That H&K actually looks ok. I always found the aesthetics and associations of them really off-putting. That looks cool tho!
Not to undermine ffm at all, but i'm also flogging a 2009 Marshall Class 5... EDIT just had on offer on it whilst typing this comment. Woot!

Where'd you get the Vibrochamp from Sparky? Agree the hole is just character. Dig it.
I plugged my Champ back in today. Man I love that thing.

Reverb. I'm enjoying it so far but I really can't crank it at all in this flat.

thanks , took a bit of a gamble but it is awesome.
not run it with any fx pedals just my little Hutchins beachcomber and it has a really lovely tone and nice fat reverb.
I started playing again at start of first lockdown and I'm still not very good but I am much fucking louder now !
playing my guitar just makes me smile , regardless of how awful I am. -

What did you get for it? I should flog mine but I imagine it will be worthless here with the 240v tranny.

300 plus postage. It’s 2009 one. Are you in the states then?

I'm super interested in a Jazz Chorus if anyone is flogging. I want something ultra clean, hifi and stereo.

I'm going shopping on Tuesday. I want a resonator so I'm off to the big smoke (well Birmingham) to try out a few different models. I like the look of the Asbury tricone (https://hobgoblin.com/ashbury-ar-49-tricone-guitar-brass-body) but I'll wait and see what sounds and feels right on the day.
Does anyone have any experience with resonators? Anything in particular I should be looking for?
I'll mainly be using it for open-G slide playing blues and country stuff. Ta!
