At nearly £3k, you'd kinda hope so. It's the SLA049J1 Capt. Willard ltd edition.

Date position isn't too awful, but sad that £3k isn't enough to see the X taken off it.

I prefer it to 4pm where you lose a marker. Just looks more balanced to me.

IMHO that watch compares very poorly to the SLA033 from a few years back. Especially so given that it’s practically the same price.

I do love squared hands. That is a looker.

It’s one of the few non-GS Seikos that has visibly really good finishing. Like you see it and think “that’s really nice”.

Same hour and minute hands as the SLA017 et al.

I’ve been given £350 to buy something nice that I usually wouldn’t spend money on, and I also lost my watch, so I’m thinking of buying a nice one that I won’t lose. I’m finding it really hard narrowing down so wondered if there’s a go-to handful of brands for this lower-end budget.
Looking for something really simple and clean; classic but not Roman numerals; white dial, date, leather strap. I’ve seen a few by Tissot/DW/Citizen that are nice to look at but maybe a bit too dressy for me, but also quite like the Hamilton Field watches with fabric straps, even though I’m not a wartime pilot. But would be up for seeing any similar recommendations.
Don’t know – is there anything to add or shall I just carry on scrolling?

Tough as old boots, made to take a knock or two, powered by light.
I think a couple of people on here have it or a similar one
(I realise now it doesn't have the white dial or strap requested, one of those is easily remedied though)

Are you looking for quartz, mechanical, automatic? or dont really care?

The funny thing about that Citizen mock-up is they've corrected the worst detail - the placing of the logo, in real life too high, nearly touching the 11. It's a shocker (still very fond of it though).
