Had a change of heart and went with mostly black parts. This took some time to get finished but i finally had a 3 min shake down ride tonight. Feels so very nice. Coming from the winter bikes and 38s with a flatbar certainly helps to make it feel lightening fast .)
the color is tricky to photograph but varies from bright pink to dark maroon depending on light and surroundings.

Phew that's a headturner. How's the stopping powet of those hyperons?
-
• #3460
thank you .)
Actually better than my xtr levers paired with dura ace disc 160 rotors tbh. But i have only had one 10 min ride in the dry so perhaps not a really fair comparison. But if its dry i prefer caliper braking to discs on many levels. Its just that in the wet .. but im going to try to keep this one away from downpoors.
Ive had a few pairs of hyperons over the years and really in the dry they are excellent. This one has lightweight pads which i think is very similar to black prince.

Looks like a stunning bike, though I can’t unsee the taped up cable end?!
-
• #3462
It's just until my crimps arrive in the mail, I promise! I'm just terrified of frayed cables (the tape likely won't even help)...
-
• #3463
Wow, that's ace. What a bike.... How have you destickered the cranks?
-
• #3464
That's beautiful. Congrats on the frame as well

Thanks! Cassette reasoning can be found here: https://www.lfgss.com/conversations/362747/
I personally really like it, but I can see why some don't...

Thank u guys!
The cranks are not destickered but the logos are less obvious and in silver. They are the sr rs version that looks like this

I'm starting a build on a Wilier Superleggera - really torn on wheels. My choices (for various reasons) are between a Bora 45 and a Bora 33.
Has anyone got a picture of a deep section on a steel bike with slim tubing?
Call me weird, but I like the G3 lacing 🤷♂️
-
• #3469
I vote shallower rather than deeper
-
• #3470
The 33 will look much nicer and feel better to ride, in my opinion. The more stiff your wheels are the more it doesn't play nice with the flexy frames.
For me, really deep section wheels on a steel tubed frame look clownish.

Some builds with deep wheels:
It's cool but not as classy

• #3473
No, just a quick google result
-
• #3474
The rims say 35 so close enough.
Also - anyone have a stem id for the Bartaglin? Maybe Extralite?

Maybe Extralite?
That
Handsome bike. Do like the black headset.
