Firstly, if you have a full car licence issued before 1st February 2001 you may ride a restricted 50cc moped on the road without L plates (and carry a passenger), but you still need to pass your CBT test to ride any motorcycle over 50cc (therefore not classed as a moped).
Electric mopeds, I know absolutely nothing about.
Vespas range from 50cc mopeds up to 378cc motorcycles but they are all in the scooter style.

Are there any legitimately good electric mopeds worth their salt? Or is it best to pick up a second hand vespa or the such for general transportation?
