    They slowly cause damage to the stays from what I’ve heard. It’s not that expensive to get a disc tab properly welded to a steel frame

  • Had a feeling that might be the case. I’ve had a quote of £100 for a disc tab, although that’s with the canti posts removed and the cable guides changed. I want to change as little as possible so would just get the tabs / brace added and leave the rest.

  • Yep, I didn’t pay much more than that for custom-fabbed tabs on a titanium frame. Left the canti studs and used self-adhesive cable guides which have all held perfectly throughout the winter.
