So it now emerges that Ed Woodward and ManU had a meeting with Johnson (the Tory leader) a few days before the ESL announcement, in which they outlined their plans. He was neutral on the issue.

That is, until he saw the public mood and shifted his view to the extent that he claims to have been responsible for putting the kibosh on it.

He presumably went home after the dinner, and wrote two speeches, for and against the idea. Just to be prepared for the public reaction.

Two great goals tonight and Kante is from a different planet. His game intellect is something else.

He is amazing it was like there were 2 of him last night.

Would never have thought that we would have been disappointed with a 1-1 draw.

Interesting to compare that performance to Barcelona in 2012 where we were, even before the red card, on the back foot. Yesterday we played a dominant game and they looked past their prime.

We have more rest before next week’s game and less travel. Just need a clean sheet and a couple of goals.
