Is Cav taken a leaf out of Daft Punk?
-
• #5553
Haha! Who rocked that fur pattern better though?

My favourite of Thundercat liveries. Shame there were no more jerseys of my size in the sale you just had.

Beats me why there's no Red Bull sponsorship on that jersey yet. :)

2021 kit just around the corner 👀

Mainly because they only sponsor teams or events that they can fully own and we're only partial sell-outs :)

couple of people were talking about Icebreaker a few pages back, seems like Cotswold outdoors is having a sale on some of their stuff... got some base layers 40% off https://www.cotswoldoutdoor.com/p/icebreaker-mens-175-everyday-short-sleeve-crewe-top-A1914043.html?colour=124

For merino base layers Wiggle are (were?) doing 25% off with the Strava challenge, which happens to be a generic discount code (DHB150). Works out at about £22/23 for a short sleeve merino, either 150 or 200 weight.

I read somewhere about a nylon sheet that you put under your gillett (inspired by newspapers) for added insulation on cold days. Was thinking about making one myself, but couldn't find the original, does anyone know what I'm thinking about?

Jinx

The Albion Burner is an insulated version of that. @ Chopsicle just made a forum run of them. Where have you been?!
double jinx

They were a product? Not sure.
A neck tube/gaitor works ok, or just cut some material. If you missed forum Burners then Albion are selling their version. (Edit - as everyone has already mentioned) :D

Obviously under some kind of rock... Thanks all!

Any recommendations for plain black bibs for about £50-£60 range, what's the best bang for buck out there?
-
• #5568
DHB? I've had a couple of pairs in the past and not had an issue.
-
• #5569
Cheers - yeah i've had a pair of those in the past & found them pretty good, just wondering if there were any other contenders in that price bracket that were worth a look

Any recommendations for an insulated gilet? I'd have just bought a rapha one but for they're out of stock until September. Endura looks good but nowhere local to try.
Just looking for a packable gilet to keep me warmer on cold mornings where I know I'm going to boil if I go out in a jacket or freeze if I go out in my usual gilet.

Burner from Albion will do this job better than a (edit: another) gilet. Packs smaller, too.

Burner from Albion
Is not a replacement for an insulated gilet in my opinion. It doesn't block the wind or have the same level of coverage as a gilet.
I have both and often wear both in the morning, take out the burner when I'm warm enough and then ride with the gilet open when it's later on and I'm fully warmed up.
Don't really need to pack a gilet away as when it's open, it's barely touching your body anyway -

i dont think an albion burner will do a better job at keeping you warm than a packable gilet. not to discredit its qualities, it's just different

I really like the Endura, some people here don't rate the zip or durability, I've had no issue and am a fan of the two-way zip. It's very race cut so not much use if riding in casual wear - very crop top.

Pearson has options... but it might be too thick
edit: sold out
