  • Oh and @>>>>>> why didn't I listen to you and flog the Guild as was?

I started sanding the back (which I thought was already stripped back to near bare wood). As soon as I started sanding two things happened:

1: I realised that my previous efforts at sanding hadn't in fact gone all the way though the finish and I probably could buff it back to gloss to match the sides.

2: The new electric detail sander I bought for the job, left a mess of deep gouges in the back and one spot of bare wood, which immediately made item 1. impossible to revert to. Fuck.

So no I'm committed. Which is a pain in the arse because the sander makes such a fucking racket I can't really do it for long. Even in the garden. I might set up a bench in the shed and head out there with a mask and some earplugs when the weather perks up. FFS.

  • Aw, man! 😢 I'm sure you'll do a great job and it'll be fine...

My GAS buyer finger is still hovering over a B7 and a Vibramate for the 335, should I? I do instinctively reach for a tremolo these days, been spending too much time with the Jag...

  • Is that for the sleek, shiny, smart black 335 you bought the other week?
Gilding the lily. Don't do it.

  • That would be great!

Keep an eye out for some of the obscure older ones, would be pretty neat to get one that's a bit different!

Did you get the Montypresso for the fingerboard in the end too?

In other semi-hollow type news I may have a trade on for my PRS Santana SE against a Hofner Verythin and I'm crossing my fingers it goes ahead as it's a lovely thing! Headstock and fingerboard inlays are so excellent!
