• I am cap in hand, looking for help again. This time a bit more complex.

I will be working at a multiple day event, capturing video and then uploading a cut at the end of every day. Client/ IT wants us to be connected to the locations' internet via ethernet for upload speed/ stability. Happy days.

However, the editor I'm working with is bringing a 2019 MBP for editing, so no ethernet port. The client's IT dept. are requesting a physical MAC address for the Macbook so when we are connected, we're not picked up as a threat. However, the Macbook only seems to have a wireless MAC address, not a physical MAC address. Is the reason for no physical MAC address because of no ethernet port on the MBP?

Any idea on how to provide a physical MAC address from this gen MBP so we can log on via ethernet. We had planned to use a ethernet to USB-C adapter (as mentioned one page back).

Any help hugely appreciated if anyone has experience with this!

  • When you plug in an adapter, it gives you a MAC address for the ethernet adapter. I use the Anker one I linked to the other day and see this when connected:
