Wish that I noted down what the stuff was, that I got given in 2013 at the pharmacy in NYC. Probably full of all sorts of steroid, my skin healed beautifully within something like a week. It was amazing. Never had a similar experience again.

Obviously everyone is different so skin healing can be very personal. I suffer with psoriasis and sometimes new tats can cause flare ups.
I find just regular ordinary coconut oil works best for me since being advised away from bepanthen a few years ago.
@sofiretattoo makes a healing cream herself which is supposed to be amazing stuff for sensitive skin but yet to try it myself. -

Coconut oil sounds like a nice natural way of doing it.

It’s expensive, but MOA Green Balm works really well for me, and doesn’t have lanolin in it like Bepanthen did (no idea re new recipe/tattoo version of that though)

I was given Hustle Butter once, which I also liked

Maybe they felt a dip in sales after tattooed people stopped buying it

Anyone been to empire ink in Glasgow?

Palmer's is the one recommended to me, the unscented stuff. I only used it once but seemed to work well. To be honest I also used bepanthem on a tattoo after the recipe change and it also healed alright but no point taking risks when there isn't anything to gain, it's not like Palmers is expensive.

I've just been getting the dog to lick mine, keep it traditional Saxon style.

Was it Aquaphor? Mine healed ok with that but the other side of my arm got a crazy rash under the clingfilm.
I’ve tried such a variety of things with each of my 15 tattoos and to be honest they’ve all healed in exactly the same way.

Not sure, I was in a bit of a haze that whole month so many things have since been forgotten.

Yep, Palmers is the one. So much nicer and easier to use as well compared to bepanthen.
-
• #12214
Yep. Will go Palmers from now on.

Oh man, I don't think I could sit for that I'm too ticklish! Mental.

I only used bepanthen once (the version after they changed the ingredients) and this happened, granted they were beefy lines.
Healed alright in the end, but was worried for a bit..! Back to Lush's ultrabalm/dream cream since then without any similar issues.

There was a spot of hysterical laughter at one point I’m not gonna lie. I’m super ticklish too.
It was about 3-4hrs tattoo time with a short break and a bit of chatting so not too bad.
I was most concerned about sweating! It happened to be really cold as we were only ones in so lucky this wasn’t a problem.
Ended up under a huge pile of blankets, you just need to lie on your back with hand behind head to get the perfect skin tension so pretty easy really. Just shake the blood back into your hand every time the artist dips for ink. -

Holy moly this lines! Really nice work. So, so great.

Sounds like the good type of tattoo pain. I have gone through one rack of ribs, elbow and elbow ditch. Now I feel like I need to get my armpit done..
-

I’ve considered my ribs and pit as training for when I’m brave enough to do my palms and neck...

Thats pretty cool - who is the artist please?
-
• #12222
Actually while I'm here. For some reason this came up in my youtube suggestions yesterday. Interesting how at the time it would have been perceived as a lot of ink. I imagine it would be very different were it to be filmed today.

I can't wait for cinemas to reopen so that I can smoke a big fat cigar and cackle maniacally in one. It's the little things you miss.

Has anyone else had a tattoo hungover? I never did until last week and it was incredibly painful. It was on my lower shin and other parts of my shin were totally fine in the past. I am just assuming it was the hangover because it was in a different league of pain than anything else I had before.
Solid. That area seems tender to say the least...
Ears... Liam Sparkes or Duncan X?
