I've been twice. The high concrete sides protect the actual wave face from any wind I think. But I've not been on a really windy day.
It's also the most knackering thing. I'm definitely not surf fit enough to make the most of it! Sitting out back and chilling is part of the fun of surfing and you don't get that. I doubt I'll go again
The Bristol wave? Would be interested to know how that goes. My brother and I disagree on whether it's worth it. I say its predominantly onshore because of its orientation (epic fail), so even on the "pro" mode will rarely produce a barrel, so might as well surf onshore Saunton all afternoon. He reckons it'll be fun anyway, cos machine and constant fun.
Its probably I'm just jealous of other countries' setups which are so much better with exactly the same tech.
Should be offshore on Friday tho.
