  • Roll up, roll up, get some anodized boutique cranks made by northerners for £90 posted in the UK.

    The good:

    • These are the first gen cranks, first is good
    • They are red, which is fast
    • They are 175mm long
    • They come with all the proprietary tools and a spare bolt of some description
    • You can buy all the spares, probably forever knowing Hope
    • Very satisfying when you put all the parts back together in the correct order
    • They were made up north

    The bad:

    • They are red, which might not suit your bike
    • They need a good clean, the chainrings in particular
    • Cranks are missing one pedal washer
    • BB bearings feel a bit gritty, you should probably replace them
    • There are a zillion pieces (PDF) and many steps to fit/remove these cranks, you will need to read the instructions (PDF)
    • These aren't the Evo cranks, so if you run supermegaultraboost, they might not work, but you'll need to check that with Hope to be sure
