having a quick google, it looks like one dimension shouldn't exceed 120cm, while the total volume shouldn't be over 12500cm3 ( which to me makes over 1 cubic meter ? ). it looks like a bike box ( not the massivest Mtb ones ) should fit right in.
That sounds very familiar. So your 90x75x22cm box would have been 148500cm3 so over size? As said not sure how rigorously they check it?
you're right, volume should be 1/8 of a metric cube. i was slightly over in size, but barely over 2kg so i guess it doesnt warrant a check
