  • Saucey, maybe a touch thick, tastes alright though, excuse the yellow rice, seemed like fun.

  • I always do yellow rice đź‘Ś

  • I like a bit of funny rice, there was some cumin seeds, coriander and lime in there, first time yellower though, might do again.

  • I add cumin seeds and mustard seeds to my rice. Star Anise too.

  • Cloves and cardamom are usually included.

  • Brilliant. I'm the same keep trying and definatly reduced my animal products. But slip every now and again. My wife did the school night fried chicken and have a load of the seitan left tikka masala is a great shout to use it up. đź‘Ť Ta for inspiration

  • Can I pay you to make me that

There's vegan food for cats and dogs availalbe in vegan shops if that's what you're asking.

  • IME - ethical vegans are. Plant based people - not. I should say in relation to dogs. Because it would seem some (most)? dogs are pretty cool w/ vegan diet - not sure about cats.

  • Ah yeah, that makes sense.

  • I'm an ethical vegan (rather than being vegan for health/environmental reasons)
My 10 month old dog isn't currently but we're going to try her on a vegan diet once she's finished growing in a few months. We also have a 9 year old cat that isn't on a vegan diet, he's a fussy eater as it is and we haven't found any vegan cat food that seems good enough. I have absolutely no ethical justification for prioritising the health/happiness of those two over other animals but here we are!

  • Can a cat survive/be healthy on a vegan diet? I am open to hear differently but it's a predator with a body designed to survive on the meat of other animals, no?

  • Dogs can go vegan, cats are obligate carnivores, so veganism isn't appropriate for them.

None of my dogs have tried a vegan diet, but I've not tried forcing my veganism on any of the humans in the household, so I'm not going to do it to the animals either. If I got a new dog, would be keen to try giving it a go.

  • Can a cat survive/be healthy on a vegan diet?

    Yes.

  • Vegan cats are all out eating mice and birds innit. My dog and two cats eat meat, apart from my mum eating occasional chicken soup it's the only meat in the house and all of that is probably waste from not fit for human consumption shit, it's still gross but I think we're generally on the plus side of things. Dog fucking loves veg anyway, his favourite treats are carrot and pepper offcuts.

  • Do you have a specific brand of vegan cat food that you'd recommend? We've struggled to find anything that we think he'll eat or that he'll stay healthy on. Would love to be proven wrong!

  • Really? Do you have any evidence for this?

  • Not at hand. Vegan Gains has few good videos on vegan food for cats. All of his companion animals are on plant based diets.

  • My 2 dogs eat V-Dog biscuits sprinkled with chopped peppers and carrots, sometimes a bit of oat yoghurt. They wolf it down every day

  • My cat gets "ethically" sourced meaty food. Smells fucking awful, but he's totally into it. Fucking bastard.
