Chilwell and James making City look ordinary.
And Ziyech is lovely to watch.

They are all looking ordinary .... feels like watching the Charity Shield ....

Get in. Great team display again.

Oh yes!

And yet John Terry still gets a free pass

And Jonathan Woodgate and Lee Bowyer. Haven’t forgotten:

No he doesn't, I'm happy to admit I was wrong to back him on that occasion, fuck knows what he was thinking... Club fealty can sometimes make you blind to the truth...
To be more accurate, I didn't back him I just didn't wanna believe it was true...

I enjoyed how the commentators who earlier were telling us how de Bruyne was the best player in the league, then told us that Man City started to play only when Foden came on, ignoring, of course, that the ginger cuckold came off at that moment.

If, and one has to hope that they will, Citeh won a League and League Cup double, will their season be more successful than Chelsea should the improbable happen and we win the CL and Cup double?
-
• #155936
I'm not sure we should even dream but Chelsea would have had the best season obvs.

City would trade all three domestic cups to get the UCL monkey off their back.
They’ve done the treble before anyway.

Big four plus Arsenal and Spurs sneaking off to a euro super league apparently. I can’t see it personally. The FIFA sanctions will probably end in a World Cup ban for players.

Terrible fucking news, end of the game as we know it. End of my support as an Arsenal fan, never thought I'd outlive the club

Part of me wonders whether it’s posturing to be honest. They’re looking for a better deal from UEFA - like guaranteed entry to the champions league, more rights etc.
I turned my back on proper support for one of the six clubs years ago - it just seems weird supporting Franchise FC.
If it goes ahead, I expect you’ll see League Two struggling to support professional football inside five years.

Would English football actually be worse off without the "Big Six"?
It would be terrible for fans of those clubs - but surely only Americans and others with no taste or connection to football would actually watch the European Super League?
And we'd be left with a more competitive, possibly cheaper competition, which might eventually become more popular anyway.
The Big Six would shrivel up and die, or come back with their tails between their legs.

If clubs could function without crazy debt and on reasonable ticket prices people would go and watch. We've come a long way in a short time though, how could premier league clubs outside the 6 work with reduced income.

did i hear right fifa threatening to ban players from world cups rtc if this goes ahead. I cant see players giving that up, the ones that did would be lower level reducing the wow factor and viewing pull. The star players hold a huge ammount of power now.
really shit that the big 6 have done this.

Aw, bless.
-
• #155946
How much would the income be reduced?
Surely there'd still be an appetite for watching live football on TV if it were "just" the Premier League, football league and cups.
The reaction from football fans across Europe seems wholly negative and so presumably there's still a lot of people who'd be willing to watch the left behind leagues.
The Super League sounds properly shite as well.

I hate the continuing comodification and 'branding' of modern football clubs, it's done nothing but distance real fans and churn out dead-eyed Premier League loving zombies... This will kill football if it happens and I'll probably start supporting my local non-League team, Peninsula Power...
Please, no!?! Hoping it's just a flex by the big clubs...
-
• #155948
how could premier league clubs outside the 6 work with reduced income.
By cutting their main outgoing by paying lower wages. Then the standard drops and more fans watch the Super League.
-
• #155949
I just hope it’s set up so that the Super League has storylines similar to WWE.
Would love to see Guardiola smash a folding chair over Klopp’s head.
-
• #155950
it sounds shit but essentially isn't this exactly what the Premier League did to the football league in the 90s? And wasn't the Champions league a response to the big clubs across Europe threatening to do this a while back too?
Follow the money
Yep had to wait a week but well done arsenal.
