I've seen them around and have thought they look good. Looking forward to hearing another view on them. (I asked the person I saw riding it, they like it)

Do the newer Bullitts have coaster brakes on the rear wheel? I'm sure my brain will adjust to it in time, but right now I'm not feeling it.

There's a region-locked coaster option, yeah.

I had one on a bike for a bit and never liked it

Just to be clear, I have a coaster brake on mine and I don't like it.
I'd happily swap it out for something else.

Also what lights do you recommend for putting on the frame "triangle" just above the front wheel of a Bullitt?
-
• #6533
I don’t think I’d like a coaster brake on mine. You really need full braking control at all times on a heavy bike like that without having to worry about where your feet are. Can you even turn the pedals backwards with one of those?

I think if you swap the dropouts you can get hydro disc.
Coaster brakes on any bikes can absolutely fuck off.
Roller brakes too.

Coaster brakes have use in certain applications, I would say that a cargo bike is not one of them.

Cool, thanks.
Test ride was cancelled because of lack of stock, but more coming in a few weeks. Will take some pics and write some words here when I've had a go.
Haven't seen one in the wild yet. See many terns every day.

Or perhaps there's just an easy way to disable the coaster brake from the hub and ride FBO, to use the Polo term? I am doing that anyway, pretty much.

Há! Come on, beach cruiser and Dutch bikes are great with coaster brakes!

I love doing front wheel skids on the UA but when I want to. Pulling the brake hard and continuing straight on isn't great in traffic.
So you need new dropouts to convert it?
-
• #6545
Pretty sure you could run an internal geared on those coaster dropouts unless I'm missing something. Rim brake or disc?

No disc mount. Could run a rear igh / drum brake maybe.

Spent my weekend servicing my Bullitt and fitting a canopy so I can get both kids in the bike ahead of the youngest starting nursery. Really impressed with the Canopy, piece of cake to install and super solid.
This leaves me with black side panels and waterproof cover to sell as well as the Fahrer Panel bags.
Is there any interest in these on the forum? -

Front brake only on a long John cargo bike is not a good idea. Other than it’s easy to lose control (as salmonchild says) your single brake may suffer overheating issues on descents when loaded

They don't have V mounts?
