Does anyone have any leads on reasonably priced dumbbells? Looking for metal rather than vinyl, pretty traditional basic spin lock with plates will do the trick. Lockdown obviously means every man and his dog wants in so everywhere is sold out. Thanks in advance.

How heavy? I can take a look at our due dates tomorrow

10-15kg each, so 20-30kg total? Something like this https://www.decathlon.co.uk/p/weight-training-20-kg-threaded-weights-kit/_/R-p-7449

Assassin Goods are getting a restock if hex in a few weeks im sure as Im wanting a set of 20's at not daylight robbery prices and they have stayed quite reasonable.
Managed to blag a set of 20's for £90 off sports direct who then proceeds to cancel and refund after they had apparently been lost, although never left the warehouse.

I think everything everything now out of stock - do you know when they’re getting more in? Cheers

You gotta be quicker than that 😂

Got 40kg spin lock kits in right now (20kg /DB) in cast iron, they'll get re-added to the site soon. £99.99 (£2.50 / kg)
30kg cast kits ordered last April are due into UK sometime end of march, will probably get held up at Rotterdam though. £79.99 / £2.67/kg
Pre-orders are live for rubber plates, shipping in around 4 weeks. £89.99 for 30kg set (£3/kg)
Shipping is £9.99 though not available to N. I.
Drop me a message if you want the cast ones.

Used the “balance weight on knee to push up into place” technique today, does reduce the load on the wrists a lot.

Chest Press?
You can do it for shoulder press too... Just bigger knee up to shoulder height. Loads of fun when it's heavy.

The only way I can set up heavy dbs. I'm too short to pick them up off the floor when sitting on the bench!

Also, not sure it's healthy for your back or your joints... Leveraged weight and all...

IIRC it was three sets of seven reps at 24kg/hand, inclined chest press. Getting the weight from resting on my knees to ready to press cains my wrists, but using my knee to raise the weight into place was much better and I don’t think it put undue stress elsewhere

and I don’t think it put undue stress elsewhere
It shouldn't

With the gyms opening I think I’d like to start going again soon.
Does anyone have any recommendations on a full body routine for strength/muscle building I could do twice a week? I’ve looked online and am confused at the amount of different stuff that is out there. I’m very much a beginner so would need something fairly straight forward. I can only do two days as I run the other days and have a little one so can’t fit much in.
Thanks! -

Stronger by Science 21 free programs. Begginer 2x bench + begginer 2x squat + begginer 1x deadlift. It's a good simple program that you can run for 6 months.

I’ve been making some great progress recently with my T bar landmine method. Basically I’ve started using the T bar with different handles and movements to replace squats and deadlifts after a bad back injury. If feels so much safer and is much easier to keep good form.

Hitting the gym today for the first time in 2 years.
I'm aiming to do push / pull / legs, 3 - 5 times a week, with a bit of rehab thrown in for a knackered knee.
This is going to hurt on Thursday.

I've got some weight plates (+ extras) for sells if anybody after some.
-
• #3473
What do you have and how much?
-
• #3474
All solid metal, not the plastic filled crap.
6x 5kg
2 x 10 kg
2 x 2.5kg
4 x 1kg
2 x 0.5kg
Few dumbells handles
1x loading pin and handle
Been out the game for a while so not clued on price but skimming eBay a £100 sounds reasonable. -

My DBs arrived. Damn is great to use DBs again. Also lack of a dedicated space is a struggle.

I use these for DB, mainly because I just prefer the fatter grip as my handles are thin even for my Trump hands. Hunt around though, non branded ones will be half that price.
*New page Fat Grip fail.
Quick search found some for a tenner fulfilled from UK.
