Sorry that was a bad joke based on a previous discussion on the thread. Looks like a very nice clean setup!

I WISH the underside of my sink looked like that

• #29004
Haha ok, with you now.

Cant believe people have suggested to cut that with a saw, and worrying about damaging the wall with a grinder LOLLLL.
Grinder or nothing 2 mins done and then fix the ceiling, I mean it looks as if it needs sorted anyway so a couple of marks from a grinder disk aren't gonna make much difference.

Get a fuck off hammer, and bosh it into the ceiling. Now it's the neighbours problem.

We still have no scale. Is it a weeny 10mm diameter or are we talking foot wide chode pipe?
-
• #29009
It's 22.4mm but quite thick walled. That whole corner is indeed a horror show as you can see.
I live in a 1930's flat. It's nice but there's a whole load of weird stuff like this. Couple more of these poking out elsewhere but they're much less offensive than this one. All the lighting wires are exposed and lights hang from weird places etc.
I'm trying to tidy it up - maybe hide them in copper trunking, but I should prob get a electrician in with some DIY skills to assess the whole thing and see if they've got a better solution. If anyone knows anyone etc...

I think you're approaching this wrong.
Paint it, stick a couple of flowers in the end and embrace it as a feature.

No ones suggested this but knock down the house and start again could be a option.

New bike time.

When doing similar my plumber advised for the washing machine and dishwasher flexi waste pipes to be supported as high as possible to avoid siphoning. In my setup the pipes enter the cabinet at the top rather than the bottom as in your pic.

I would try to thin out the walls by drilling into the open end then finish cutting it off with a multitool packing a decent metal blade running slow and cooling the blade properly with some oil or water.
Plumbers always reckon decorative work is a non problem but do you ever catch them doing any making good? :)

I second the Multitool. It will take ages but is unlikely to wreck the walls and won’t cut your face off.

New house, new bike. Its the rules.

• #29017
Multi tool - Dremmel - grinder - reciprocating saw - multi tool. The full circle 😁
-
• #29018
Gaffer tape them all together, tape down the triggers, sling the rat king at the pipe...
??
Profit.

• #29019
You've given me a new idea, drill into it at just under 90 degrees where it meets the ceiling and work up to a drill the same diameter as the pipe. Then use a dremel/multitool/hammer to tidy up the ragged end.

I think I’ve found the solution to the pipe issue - it’s likely you will need to decorate whatever tools you use so that will always be an issue. Pretty sure this will work though.

I suggest a hole saw on the side.
better

• #29022
Has anyone suggested lowering the whole ceiling yet and leaving the pipe uncut but newly concealed? Cos if not, that’s my helpful tip.

• #29023
Acetylene torch should take it clean off

Nail file. Might take a while but guaranteed to work

I have a kango around somewhere.
Lol, thanks for the encouragement.
Filled both sinks to about half way and then let it go, not a leak in sight.
