  • £2k deep in DA levers here.

    3 x 365 day returns.
    2 x 90 day returns.
1 x eBay - too keen on this one... cost more than the new CRC ones! Oops.

BUT i've got myself a whole pair. That's what i was ultimately after... i just now have a few spares!

@PhilDAS only the broken 8070 one avail i'm afraid - project time. The others have been sold on here to a well respected member for cost price :)

PS: global lever stocks are now safe. I'm done.

  • Hoarding RX4s no longer doing it for you? Heh.

Was wondering if you had a particular reliable place to get hold of some (silver, flat mount, Shimano) RX4 callipers? Everywhere seems out of stock :(

I've tried. But instead just ordered via LBS and am waiting it out.
Had some success with local and obscure shops, but supplies dried up earlier this year (when I got my blue ones). Woody Hole's instagram suggests they're pumping them out though, so presume they're all singular LBS orders - which is fair, and a good way of working - they've simply disappeared from CRC/Wiggle etc.

  • Cheers, that sounds like I expected, looks like I'll need to put an order in with my LBS!

Edit: scrolled through their Twitter feed & this is the case from the horse's mouth.

  • Boo hiss!

Lucky i still have 1 spare left in my possession!

    2 x right have shipped.

  • I have now got 2 X working brakes.

It’s too late to attack the bar tape. Tomorrow this bike will be going for it’s first spin. The more and more I look at the Blue RX4s the more and more I like them. Combined with the blue chainring bolts and then some blue Bolts in the otherwise black bar plugs I think we might be on to a winner. I’ll order some and see…

    For those following my lever exploits;
    Used
    2 X DA 9170.

    Spares
    1 X DA 9170
    2 X Ultegra 8070 (1 rounded)

    Sold!
And staying on the forum… 1 x brand spanking 8070.

  • I think the blue works, would look very nice with the silver, but a bit stock looking maybe.

  • Do you have a stock list of RX4s too?

  • I got a Silver Hope BB originally, but it was too silver when test fitted. Had it been duller it was definitely a goer. But, it wasn't to be. Also, not sure if I could cope with Black bar, stem and seatpost if using Silver.

Ultimately this all comes down to whether I can be bothered to bleed the Black Rx4s when they arrive!

@Acliff less stock, more a catalogue of back orders ;)

Bar tape going on very soon and final torque check! 😁😁😁😁

  • 6nm for the bleed cap isn't it?

  • Done!

I make no excuses for poor bike image background choice.

  • Damn that blue really pops on it. Weirdly good looking.

brb buying SSF (Shimano Shifter Futures) on the Tokyo Stock Exchange.

  • Can confirm 2.1 mph quicker than a CAAD 12.

    3T comparison TBC.

  • Yay! Pretty

  • More importantly how much quicker does it stop

  • All 3 bikes have had the same brakes… so same same.
I will however be giving it a week or 2 before I resume my downhill KOM quests around here, just to get an idea on handling.

Initial ride; this bike feels very tall. But it’s also fast straight out the box. Saddle needs to go forward a smidge to compensate for the short nose - but it’s very comfortable for me already.
Cannot tell a difference between DA and Ultegra shifters. Was it worth it? Absolutely not. But #buyer.

Got my beady eye on some Hunt 48 limitless aero wheels. But not so keen on the white stripes. If they did black…
The S-Works appropriate Rovals are not tubeless and this is a forward thinking biek.

  • Surely if it’s faster it brakes slower #science.

I love the unadulterated vision. Even if I don’t really get it 🤣
I also really want to go for a ride when I’m in Dorset next and see it.

  • Light bicycle is the only rim choice worth bothering with if you really want something that ticks all your boxes

    • wide
    • tubeless
    • light
    • deep
    • no fucking stupid logos
    • actual quality control (ahem-enve)

On to my 5th set of LB and they’ve always been absolutely flawless

  • Bloody nice bike btw - love you’re still 1X even after the Strada!

  • Light bicycle is the only rim choice worth bothering with if you really want something that ticks all your boxes

Yeah but don't hold your breath on short lead times, they're out of DT 240 EXP hubs until the end of May, and also rims are backlogged apparently. I went for Farsports as mentioned here and they actually gave me a 5% discount code for just talking to them via email.

  • Fair - I have not factored any kind of logistical or manufacturing delays as I was very lucky to get in there just before shit went south and I actually took advantage of them selling off their old 240s stock with some insane discounts.
First time I’ve actually got a full wheelset from them as I normally source my hubs separately then hand everything over the the wizard that is Arkane....

Also really rate farsports aswell, although never actually had any of their rims/wheels

  • Nice bike. I like the blue callipers in a so ugly only a mother could love em kinda way.

I recently got back on the fancy carbon disc brake bike bandwaggon too. I forgot how heavy they are compared to my rim brake bikes!

    Happy riding.

  • edit: wrong thread

  • Even after import they’re half decent prices! This bike deserves at least 50mm deep, the current 40s are a little lost and at least this bike has some clearance. The whole wheel building thing has put me off before tbh but I note your recommendation and shall explore.

Yes, I’m sold on 1 x now. Running the same cassette and therefore jumps on both this and the mountain bike make things pretty consistent and the gaps are as my legs are expecting. Want a Garbaruk 50t for the front but Brexit is killing imports but I’m working on something.

OT: Is that beast ULEZ compliant?! Proper tyres and mud suggest it’s being used as intended!
