I reckon. The teeth look tall.
The build looks really nice and cabling ... doesn’t look shit to me (notanexpert).
If you can’t get clean shifting even when setup maybe align the hanger? It’s easy but you’ll need a tool.

See if the noise is coming from the chain engaging with the teeth (both chain-ring and the lower jockey wheel). You might have the chain-line out a bit or the chain a few links too short.

The chain has been fed through the wrong side of the mech cage plate.
You’ll have to break it and re-feed so it sits the other side, as per the red line here:

Heh! I can watch Red Kites all day, someone across the road feeds them and there are usually 20 then. I know some think its wrong, but I love watching it.

At worst I get a chain guide , the rear mech has a clutch, should be fine? Who knows, did we ride bikes before 1x?
I cannot stress enough, I have absalutely no idea what is happening when it comes to bikes, I see bit with matching name, I click buy, 50/50 if it works or not
