Attempting a bit of urban cross tomorrow, aiming to find some new routes.
The part of the route I know nothing baout is between km10 an km44.
Any comment on that? Recent updates on conditions? Many gates? Angry dog walkers?
Planning on a 5.30/6am start to do the parks well before they are busyEDIT: Went and rode it, some sections to avoid for most time of the year. Do not ride this as it is

Looking for a route out to just west of Reading (Pangbourne). I've found two here, one is titled Rapha W100 so assume that's prob gonna do the job nicely. I'm leaving from NE London but would happily go via Richmond Park and pick up from there.

Just posting in case anyone else has anything they particularly recommend. I don't really know that west side place over there.

Does anyone have any fun MTB trail routes in Kent? Got a bouncy bike now and would like to explore some gravity assisted rough stuff

But if you want me to draw you up a totally bespoke longer way that stays in from the coast and takes in classic Mid Kent lanes PM me

Would recommend the Black Horse Inn, Thurnham as a good stop for lunch/hydration on that route

Is anyone here an expert on Surrey trails? I've got a mate who's training for AMR so we're going to do a longish gravel ride on Saturday. I've taken some liberties combining a couple of shorter routes but I don't know the area well - anything in this route that we should avoid?

Off road from Oxford? Anyone done a good one?

Anyone know a tool to check cumulative distance and climbing within section of a GPX track?
-
• #1091
RWGPS does that, simply select a portion of the route and it gives you the sub totals
EDIT: if this is for the TNR I have all of that done already in a super geeky spreadsheet ;)

thanks... totally missed that

Yeah, for that route. Seems likely I can get into Italy in July so just working out a more realistic itinerary as my current one is just arbitrary chops based on towns not distance or elevation.

It works out quite well though with 3k of gain every 100km. We split it up based on not sleeping above 1000m altitude if possible, since we were camping most times

Planning on sleeping out at least a couple of times but refuges rather than hotels if at all possible when I decide I need a bed. Just checked and there's approx 15 hours of daylight so I think as long as I avoid ruining myself too badly on the climbs, I don't need to hurry. Got 7 days to get to Nice plus a couple extra to ride back before my flight.

Not sure how I missed this reply 3 months ago but thanks. I will definitely be looking to do this at some point now the days are longer and the weather is better.

I am planning on doing it again this year, but I am working on the offroad route, will make it an even longer day!
Once restrictions ease, I’d like to ride to my parent’s in Shropshire.
Has anyone ridden a good route from London through Shropshire?
