It's a plain white quartz from DIY Kitchens, 3omm I think. We're pretty pleased with it.

I am looking for one of these where did you get it?
Doing to DIY a built in wardrobe so should come in handy.
Also after a good price on Dewalt’s orbital sander. -

Screwfix. £109 for the bare tool. I bought the drill and impact driver with two batteries recently.

I posted in here a while back about my internal doors which I don’t like and getting them painted.
I have failed to act thus far, but am in the process of getting loft quotes and understand that they all need replacing (or treating) due to fire regulations.
Has anyone seen/got any nice compliant doors that I can consider?

The other option is to have a hard-wired smoke alarm in each room, although this is obviously a lot of effort if you don't actually like the original doors.

The chaps from asashrepair.co.uk have been downstairs removing the stained glass panels (to be taken away for refurb) and boarding up for the last couple of hours. Haven't been down to check yet but it certainly sounds like they are doing a thorough job. Full job should be done by the end of May. Much excite.

We got away with radio linked smoke alarms in all habitable rooms. Loads of PP3 batteries.

I guess this counts as home improvement. Once the last of this pile of firewood was burned, and the exterminator had killed all the woodworm and beetles in the timbers I put the cellar back to its proper purpose.

Are you trying to get in the golf club thread? Why not just post there in the first place? :)

The bar for getting quoted in there has been lowered to the point where it's like 'do they have a pulse, can they type? '

It's the jaunty angle of the straps.....
Still, way more secure than the wobbly glass they've taken away.

Just noticed I can see daylight through our front door. It really is shit.

I can see daylight through that hallway floor, if that's any consolation.

I hope you have a plentiful supply of candy for when the local crackheads come trick or treating.

Luckily, it's a little less Cabin in the Woods from the outside.

I think it adds a certain crack den chic.
Could probably do with a local gang tag or two on the other side but other than that...

Removing paint from this doorstep any recommendations for paint stripper? Tried BIN stuff but still lots of paint stuck hard.

wire brush and a heat gun might be sufficient but i belive the chemical you're looking for is dichloromethane, which was banned by the EU as it's remarkably bad for your health (https://premiumdoorstripping.co.uk/dangers-dichloromethane-paint-strippers/)

That stuff looks well reviewed, and a little less deadly
YouTube revealed a lot of uses which I hadn’t considered - to the point that I emailed my builder friend with the video. He has one but perhaps hadn’t considered all the uses for it.
