Dano Cool Cat isn’t bad and is (used to be?) well cheap if you want to scratch a generic itch...!

Not a guitar, but I picked this little beast up at the weekend.

That’s beautiful. I played very rudimentary mando on a very rudimentary mando in a band about half a lifetime ago. I’ve never really tried on anything decent.

If you're thinking of the old Dano pedal it was a chorus, but I referred to the Cool Cat series Vibe pedal - pretty confusing naming!

But yes, the Cool Cat Vibe is a decent vibe pedal that I remember picking up for about 30 quid. Not sure how it'd compare with the Dunlop/MXR but as I said, might do the trick if it was a case of scratching an itch. Metal case, true bypass etc so no plasticy pedal either 🙂

Ahhhhh! gotcha. Thanks. I'll keep an eye out. I had the orange fuzz once. No idea what happened to it.

I could happily go for the MXR vibe but i'm on a mission to accumulate cash from selling off some gear to fund a new guitar so no frivolous purchases for me atm.

I remember looking into the Cool Cat fuzz as it's meant to be a nearly 1:1 clone of the Frantone Peach Fuzz (different IC, same circuit, so an easy mod if needed), and used to go second hand for around 20 quid!

Those actually all tended be much better than the price suggested, as were some of the tiny plastic-y ones with food names they used to have

I recall really not digging the cool cat fuzz fwiw. More of a nasty fizzy distortion as far as I can recall

I sort of did 😅 I got the two Ludwigs from the same seller for €400 all in incl. postage from USA. I reckon after they get the restoration treatment they should be worth €400+ each (if I can bring myself to sell them...)

Holy smokes, I just looked them up and it makes Collings look like a poor mans entry level instrument!

What a wonderful thing to have though, I'd love to hear some clips of it if you get a chance as I'm sure it sounds heavenly!
