probably export as kml, go to gpsvisualizer and convert to gpx, import to your edge.
on a pc on google my maps, stick all the points on a map as markers, then export the whole lot as a kml file and convert to gpx

Thanks, but I was hoping there would be a more elegant way to do it for a single location - like 'Send to / share with' the Edge over Bluetooth.
there may be but it is not something I have done.
Elegant is not the first word that springs to mind with garmin.
