  • it's so good

I just finished with subnautica, awesome game. Not to grindy for a survival game, nice story and an amazing setting. Also not too much hand holding about where to go/what to do - which i appreciate. -kind of like outer wilds in the sea

  • I’m working my way through it after the Play at Home freebie and, although I love it for the same reasons you’ve mentioned (actual discovery in every sense!) the draw distance and pop-in are just appalling. It just slows the pace down to a crawl and affects exploration so much. I don’t want to stop but I can’t help but wonder at what else I’m missing because it just didn’t spawn from 10m out.

  • True, the pop in is pretty terrible. A bit odd considering the draw distances underwater are pretty small because of the fogging. I read the developers actually improved it a fair bit since launch - there was videos of people crashing into mountains before they've even rendered.
